This acquisition represents a new position for Bank of America Corp DE and accounts for 2.29% of The Goldman Sachs Group's outstanding shares.
The purchase is part of a larger trend in which institutional investors are increasing their holdings in Goldman Sachs, with other notable investors such as BOK Financial Private Wealth Inc., Garton & Associates Financial Advisors LLC, and Lifetime Wealth Management P.C. also acquiring new stakes in the company.
Goldman Sachs has been expanding its technology investment capabilities, opening a Bellevue, Washington engineering hub focused on artificial intelligence and cloud technology, which could strengthen its internal capabilities and improve efficiency.
