Banned Jordans on Sale: JD Sports Drops Prices Below Retail
The Jordan Brand's marketing gimmick surrounding the 'banned' Air Jordan 1 has been a long-standing narrative. In reality, Michael Jordan and Nike were fined by the NBA for wearing a black-and-red shoe that was not part of their contract with Adidas, but the Swoosh fabricated the story that it was banned to sell rebellion.
The 'banned' narrative has even become central focus for actual colorways on the AJ 1. The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Banned is one such example, and now three months after its May release, it's available for under retail via JD Sports.
The shoe retains the iconic bred color scheme from the original Air Jordan 1 High, with black tumbled leather on the mudguard, eyelets, and midfoot panel. Pops of red are used on the box, Swoosh, heel overlay, and the heel tab, which features a red 'X' as an homage to its 'banning.'
JD Sports has slashed prices across the board for this shoe, with adult pairs available for $105, GS for $85, preschool for $55, and toddler for $45. You can take even more off with code JDS10.
