Barclays Boosts Price Target on Strategy Inc. to $160
Barclays has reaffirmed its buy rating on Strategy Inc., formerly known as MicroStrategy, and set a price target of $160. This move places the company in the same analytical universe as Visa and Mastercard, an unexpected classification just a few years ago when Strategy was primarily recognized for its enterprise software.
The bank initiated coverage of Strategy on July 8, 2026, with an Overweight rating and a $130 price target. Barclays categorized Strategy within the US payments and fintech sector, alongside industry heavyweights like Visa and Mastercard. After releasing its Q2 results, the bank actually trimmed the target to $125 due to a challenging Bitcoin market while maintaining its Overweight rating.
Strategy's Q2 report offered a mixed bag, with revenue of approximately $122.4 million representing a 7% year-over-year increase. However, the company still recorded significant GAAP net loss driven by unrealized losses on its Bitcoin holdings.
Barclays' $160 target sits below the broader analyst consensus, which ranges from $226 to $278 with an average sentiment of strong buy and moderate buy. The bank views recent developments as net positive for Strategy's outlook, considering the company's software business and capital allocation strategy.
