Baymax Finally Arrives at Disney World's Hollywood Studios Amid Animation Area Revamp
Disney's Hollywood Studios has welcomed Baymax, a beloved character from the Big Hero 6 franchise, as part of its revamped animation area. The Magic of Disney Animation section officially opened on September 14, 2023, marking a significant transformation in the park.
The arrival of Baymax comes as a sipper, which is available for purchase at the park and features the character with his charging station underneath him. Guests who buy the sipper can also enjoy a specialty drink called 'Ani-Made,' made from Minute Maid premium lemonade, Dole Pineapple Juice, and watermelon syrup.
The Magic of Disney Animation area blends newer characters with nostalgic references, creating a unique experience that stands out from other recent Disney World projects. The space includes a new play area inspired by Disney's Alice in Wonderland and Olaf Draws!, where guests can interact with the lovable snowman.
Disney has been working on this transformation for years, starting with the opening of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! in 2023. The park's Walt Disney Studios Lot has also undergone changes to bring animation back into its identity. While Baymax's presence is currently limited to merchandise, fans are speculating about the possibility of a larger experience in the future.
