Beacon Resident Jacqueline 'Jackie' Tortora Passes Away at 67

Jacqueline 'Jackie' Tortora, a lifelong resident of Beacon, New York, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at the age of 67. She had been battling a long illness and was under the care of the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.

Tortora spent most of her working career with IBM in East Fishkill before continuing her employment at Dutchess County Government after the company downsized. Her educational background includes graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie and earning an AAS degree in Business from Dutchess Community College.

Tortora is survived by her sister, Joan A. Pagones (James), her brother, Joseph Tortora (Lisa), as well as several nieces and nephews. Special thanks are given to nephew Dan and niece Vickie Tortora for their devoted care of Jackie over the years.
