Beijing's Visa Wall: China's Security Measures Block Indian Business Access
India's business ventures are facing restrictions in China due to tightened security measures. The country has become more cautious about granting visas to Indian executives, affecting on-site supplier visits for procurement needs.
This change comes after India eased investment rules last year, allowing Chinese companies to invest in the country. However, Beijing has since tightened its security matrix to prevent sensitive industrial information and technologies from leaking out of the country.
As a result, Indian executives are facing hurdles when trying to obtain business visas for China. Meetings in third countries do not serve the purpose for medium-sized enterprises in India that rely on on-site visits to Chinese suppliers for procurement.
