Benioff Slams SaaSpocalypse Fears as Salesforce Posts Strong Earnings
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff is pushing back against concerns that AI will replace traditional software companies, calling it 'nonsense' and saying 'this is not the SaaSpocalypse'. Benioff also highlighted that despite concerns about AI agents replacing human workers, Salesforce saw growth in seats for its Agentforce Sales, Services, and Slack products. He claimed that attrition is near its lowest level ever, contradicting predictions of a mass exodus from traditional software companies.
The partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic to integrate their technology may seem counterintuitive given the SaaSpocalypse debate. However, Benioff argued that AI agents will still rely on underlying data and workflows, making Salesforce's services essential even if employees spend less time inside its systems.
