Berkshire Hathaway Doubles Down on Alphabet
Berkshire Hathaway increased its stake in Alphabet by 83% during the second quarter, lifting Google and YouTube's parent to become Warren Buffett's conglomerate's third-largest stock investment.
The holding now includes nearly 106 million shares worth about $37.8 billion as of June 30, up from 57.8 million shares three months earlier.
Berkshire owned these Alphabet shares with a $10 billion investment announced in June to help expand Alphabet's AI infrastructure.
The conglomerate bought $23.5 billion of stocks and sold $3.7 billion during the second quarter, ending a 14-quarter stretch where it sold more stocks than it bought.
