Berkshire Hathaway Doubles Down on Alphabet Stake
Berkshire Hathaway significantly boosted its stake in Alphabet during the second quarter, increasing it by 83% to nearly 106 million shares.
The investment is now worth about $37.8 billion and has made Alphabet Berkshire's third-largest stock holding after Apple and American Express.
Berkshire's chairman Warren Buffett said that investing in Alphabet was his idea, and the company began building its stake in the third quarter of last year.
The conglomerate also increased its stakes in Delta Air Lines and Macy's during the second quarter, with its investment in Delta growing by 44% to 57.3 million shares worth nearly $5.4 billion.
