Berkshire Hathaway Drops Billions on Alphabet and Airlines
Berkshire Hathaway has made its largest quarterly stock purchase in four years, with a net $20 billion spent on shares during Q2 2026. The company boosted its stake in Alphabet (GOOGL) by 83% to 106 million shares worth $37.9 billion.
This increase makes Alphabet Berkshire's third-largest holding, behind Apple and American Express. The Alphabet stock has risen around 170% over the past three years due to investor confidence in its AI position.
Berkshire also increased its stakes in Delta Air Lines (44%) and Lennar Class A shares (nearly 30%), while opening a small new position in D.R. Horton. The company's cash pile dropped from $397 billion to $365 billion as it deployed more capital.
