Berkshire Hathaway & Druckenmiller Pour Billions into Google Stock
Warren Buffett's investment arm Berkshire Hathaway has significantly increased its stake in Alphabet's Class A Google stock (NASDAQ: GOOGL), purchasing another $17 billion in the asset. This brings Berkshire Hathaway's total holding to around $38 billion, making it the company's third-largest position.
The latest 13F quarterly filing with the SEC shows that Berkshire Hathaway has been accumulating Google stock aggressively, with Greg Abel, the newly appointed CEO, being a strong proponent of the asset. Alphabet is expanding its presence in the AI sector with various launches and partnerships, including Gemini, Cloud Enterprise, DeepMind, Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), and TensorFlow.
Stanley Druckenmiller has also taken notice of Google's potential, buying $120 million worth of shares through his family office. The increased capital expenditure from $180 billion to $205 billion in 2026 is seen as a strategic move by Alphabet to strengthen its dominance in the AI space.
The long-term prospects of GOOGL are looking promising, with revenues locked in for the next five years, up until 2030-31. This has led some investors to consider Google stock a lucrative asset, particularly given its current trading price below $350.
