Berkshire Hathaway Posts Record Q2 Earnings Amid Hardware Price Surge
Berkshire Hathaway's net income for the second quarter more than doubled year-over-year to $25.667 billion, with Alphabet becoming its largest equity holding.
The company's top five equity holdings are Alphabet Inc., American Express, Apple Inc., Bank of America, and Coca-Cola, with 66% of its aggregate fair value concentrated in these five companies as of June 30.
In contrast, several equipment leasing providers indicated that compared to the price increases of upstream hardware components like memory and graphics cards, rental prices for consumer electronics have not risen as significantly, with some products seeing price hikes of approximately 5%.
