Berkshire Hathaway's Portfolio Remains Heavily Concentrated in Top Stocks
The leadership change at Berkshire Hathaway has not significantly altered its investment strategy. Under the guidance of Greg Abel, the company's portfolio remains heavily concentrated in four top stocks.
Apple is still the largest position, making up 20.2% of the equity portfolio, followed by American Express at 13.7%. Alphabet and Coca-Cola round out the top four, with 9.9% and 9.8% respectively.
The inclusion of Alphabet in the portfolio was a deliberate decision made during Warren Buffett's tenure as CEO. The company has a strong presence in various industries, including search, YouTube, Android, and cloud computing. Its AI business is also growing rapidly.
Buffett has praised American Express for its global brand and differentiated model, which sets it apart from other financial companies.
