Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's invitation to private sector leaders to join the G20 finance ministerial meeting has won praise from Wall Street heavyweights. The meeting, held in Asheville, North Carolina, aims to focus on economic growth and how it can be achieved through public-private partnerships. JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon praised Bessent's move, saying 'good policy is made better when those who lend, hire, invest, and build have a voice in shaping it.' Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon echoed Dimon's sentiment, stating that the invitation demonstrates a desire for a 'public-private partnership to drive more economic growth.'

Bessent believes that growth cannot happen without the private sector and is relying on its abundance of resources, clarity of rules, and strength of markets. He also addressed the national debt, which recently crossed $40 trillion, pointing to deregulation efforts and restoration of 100% bonus depreciation as key factors in driving economic growth.

The meeting's focus on AI regulation has also sparked interest among attendees. Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks was invited to share his company's experience with AI and how it affects their business. Bessent hopes that other countries will commit to pro-growth initiatives, but notes that there is no guarantee they 'will take the measures they need.'
