BetterLife Pharma Taps Experienced Dr. Mahan Chehrenama as New Chief Medical Officer
BetterLife Pharma Inc., a biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for neurological disorders, has appointed Mahan Chehrenama as its new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Chehrenama brings nearly a decade of experience in senior biopharma drug development and over two decades of clinical practice and research in headache medicine to the role.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Chehrenama will lead the clinical development of BETR-001, a non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogen advancing toward an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for migraine and other headache disorders. The Company anticipates submitting its IND application in the first quarter of 2027.
Dr. Chehrenama has held various positions in the industry, including serving as Chief Medical Officer at Manistee Therapeutics and global development lead at Amgen. She previously led Revance Therapeutics to a successful global phase 3 program for an orphan/rare disease indication supporting a Biologics License Application.
