Beverage Industry Veteran Edwin Mellett Passes Away at 87
Edwin Mellett, a seasoned executive with a storied career in the beverage industry, passed away on August 27, 2026. Born on February 4, 1939, in New York City, Mellett graduated from Fordham University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
He went on to earn an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in December 1961. That same month, he married Frances Lillian Talt, his partner for over five decades and the mother of their four children.
Mellett's business career spanned over two decades, with stints at General Foods Corp., PepsiCo, and The Coca-Cola Company. He held various senior management positions, including President of Pepsi Foodservice and Executive Vice-President of Coca-Cola USA.
