Bezos' $4 Billion Share Sale Triggers Amazon Stock Dip

Amazon's stock slipped by 1% in overnight trading on Monday after crossing the $3 trillion market cap threshold for the first time. The dip followed a fresh regulatory filing revealing that founder Jeff Bezos plans to sell nearly $4.1 billion worth of AMZN shares.

The proposed sale, valued at $4.07 billion, will see Bezos unload 15 million shares on August 3. This move is part of an existing Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted in November 2025, which allows for prearranged stock sales to avoid insider trading concerns.

Bezos' stake in Amazon would decrease from around 884 million shares to approximately 869 million, or about 8.1% of the company's outstanding shares, if the sale is completed as planned.
