Billionaire Jeff Bezos has dismissed claims that he's invested too heavily in his space venture, Blue Origin. He said at an event in December 2024 that it's not all of his eggs in one basket, pointing out that he still has a huge investment in Amazon and spends a lot of time there.

Bezos stepped down as Amazon CEO in 2021 but didn't exactly retire. In fact, he said 'this retirement thing, I've turned out to be extremely lame at.' He wakes up every morning for meetings from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with most of that time devoted to Blue Origin and some to Amazon.

Bezos' comments suggest that stepping down as CEO gave him the freedom to pursue multiple massive projects simultaneously. Despite making enough money to spend his life doing nothing, he chose to continue working on giant problems.
