Bezos Files Plans to Sell $4.1 Billion Worth of Amazon Shares
Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, has filed plans to sell approximately 15 million shares worth around $4.1 billion at a time when the stock reached an all-time high and the company's market capitalization surpassed $3 trillion.
The planned sale follows a pre-arranged trading plan under Rule 10b5-1 adopted in November 2025, indicating no sudden loss of confidence. Amazon's solid Q2 results, driven by cloud and AI dynamics, had already pushed the stock up around 20% since the start of the year, outperforming the S&P 500.
Bezos remains one of the largest individual shareholders in the company even after the transaction.
