Bezos Sells $4 Billion in Amazon Shares Amid Record-Breaking Growth
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos plans to sell nearly $4 billion worth of shares through a pre-approved trading plan. The major transactions will be carried out by Morgan Stanley, and this is Bezos's first significant share sale since the end of last year.
The move comes as Amazon's market capitalization has surpassed $3 trillion for the first time, making it one of only five companies worldwide to reach this milestone. Additionally, the company's share price growth accelerated after its latest quarterly financial report exceeded market expectations.
Amazon's revenue exceeded $200 billion in the second quarter, with operating profit rising by 43% to over $27 billion. The AWS division saw particularly strong results, with revenue increasing by 37% to more than $42 billion.
