Bezos Unloads $4 Billion in Amazon Shares Amid Record-High Stock
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has filed a plan to sell about 15 million shares of Amazon, worth around $4.1 billion, following the company's strong quarterly earnings that pushed its stock to a record high.
The sales were carried out under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan that Bezos adopted on November 14, 2025, according to a Form 144 filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Amazon's shares had touched an all-time high of $284.02 on Monday, but fell more than 2% on Tuesday after the filing became public, closing at $277.42.
The company's cloud computing business, Amazon Web Services (AWS), performed better than expected, contributing to the strong earnings. The results also showed that Amazon's massive spending on artificial intelligence is starting to bring in more business.
