Bezos Unloads $4 Billion in Amazon Stock Amid AWS Growth
Amazon's founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos has sold 1.2 million shares of Amazon stock, valued at over $4 billion if sold at the market price at the time of filing.
This sale is part of a prearranged Rule 10b5-1 trading plan established last year to prevent insiders from trading on nonpublic information.
Amazon's cloud computing unit, Amazon Web Services (AWS), continues to drive growth for the company, with revenue accelerating 37% year over year and operating margin expanding to 39.4% in the most recent quarter.
AWS has a long runway ahead of it, with AWS CEO Andy Jassy predicting it could become a $1 trillion annual revenue business.
