Bhopal Man Duped of ₹7 Lakh in Google Review Work-from-Home Scam
A young man from Bhopal was defrauded of ₹7 lakh by scammers who promised him earnings through 'Google reviews'. The scam started when the scammers contacted him on Telegram, offering money in exchange for posting Google reviews. They initially asked him to complete small tasks and gave him profits, gaining his trust. Then they cheated him out of a total of ₹4.73 lakh in the name of new tasks, bonuses, and refunds.
The man also took a personal loan of ₹2 lakh hoping to recover the money, but the scammers took that too. When he realized he had been defrauded, he filed a complaint with the police.
This is not an isolated case. Several cases of fraud have been reported in recent times in the name of 'Google review tasks' and online part-time jobs.
