Biman Seeks Fresh Lease on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners After Previous Tender Falls Flat
State-run Biman Bangladesh Airlines has put out a new request for proposals to lease three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, after its previous tender failed to attract sufficient interest.
The airline wants to dry lease the aircraft for six years, with immediate induction preferred and delivery by January 1, 2027. The lessor will provide the planes while Biman takes care of their operation, including pilots, cabin crew, maintenance, and insurance.
The proposed aircraft must be powered by GEnx-1B74/75 engines, have a maximum take-off weight of 254,000 kg, and be no more than 15 years old as of June 30, 2027. Each plane should also have a two-class configuration with over 300 seats.
