Microsoft is testing a new feature in its Bing search engine that removes site names from search result snippets. This means that instead of seeing 'example.com - this is a test' in the snippet, users will only see 'https://example.com - this is a test'.

The move is not entirely new, as Google tested a similar feature about a year ago.

Bing's test of removing site names from search result snippets was spotted by Sachin Patel and posted on Search Engine Watch's forum. Barry Schwartz, the CEO of RustyBrick and Executive Editor of Search Engine Roundtable, was able to replicate the test and shared a screenshot.
