Biocon Scores Approval for Pegfilgrastim Biosimilar in Japan
Biocon has received marketing approval for its pegfilgrastim biosimilar from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
The product is a biosimilar to Amgen's Neulasta, which helps decrease the incidence of infection in patients with nonmyeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia.
Sandoz K.K. will exclusively promote, sell and distribute the product in Japan, further strengthening Biocon's portfolio of biosimilar products in the country.
