BNB Smart Chain Used in Large-Scale Malware Campaigns

Microsoft has issued a warning about a new attack using the BNB Smart Chain. The attackers are exploiting a technique known as 'EtherHiding,' which allows them to retrieve malicious instructions hidden in smart contracts on the blockchain through the RPC gateway of the BNB Smart Chain.

The hackers display fake CAPTCHA verification prompts to trick users into executing the malicious commands themselves. Microsoft's Threat Intelligence has identified thousands of corporate and personal devices worldwide being targeted each day through these 'ClickFix' and 'TerminalFix' attack campaigns.

Microsoft urged users to exercise caution and take necessary measures to protect their devices from this type of attack. The company did not provide any further information on the scope or potential impact of the attacks, but warned that they are being carried out on a large scale.
