Bob Iger Inducted into Disney Legends Class of 2026
Bob Iger, the new owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, has been honored as an inductee into the Walt Disney Company's prestigious Disney Legends class for 2026. The award recognizes individuals who have made a remarkable impact on audiences worldwide through their work in film, television, experiences, and sports.
Iger was named CEO of the Walt Disney Company in 2005 and served until 2021, returning to the role from November 2022 through March 18, 2026. During his tenure, Disney expanded its creative content offerings across multiple new platforms, including the launch of the Disney+ streaming service in November 2019.
Under Iger's leadership, Disney acquired several notable companies, including Pixar (2006), Marvel (2009), Lucasfilm (2012), and 21st Century Fox (2019). He oversaw record-setting films such as Marvel's Black Panther (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), Disney's Frozen (2013), Zootopia 2 (2025), and Lilo & Stitch (2025).
