Bobs Dominate Google Searches as Three Distinct Variations Take Top Spots
The bob haircut has taken over Google searches, with three distinct variations, Scandi Bob, Butterfly Bob, and Riviera Bob, claiming the top spots. According to Google search trends analyzed by Fresha, a beauty platform, these bobs have seen significant surges in queries: +408% for Scandi Bob, +174% for Butterfly Bob, and +125% for Riviera Bob.
The Scandi Bob is a minimalist take on the classic silhouette, typically worn between the jaw and collarbones with little to no layering. Hairstylist Irinel de León describes it as 'sharp, straight cut that still manages to feel soft and natural.'
Hairstylist Alicia Dobson notes that Scandi Bob is particularly flattering on narrow faces, creating an illusion of width due to its blunt shape.
The Butterfly Bob, on the other hand, features airy layers that give hair a wispy, feathered effect reminiscent of butterfly wings. Hairstylist Jenna Spino explains that this cut demands more effort behind the scenes with hot tools.
Finally, the Riviera Bob is a derivative of the Italian Bob but in a less polished version, featuring subtly textured ends for movement and softness.
