Boeing 707-320C Revamped for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Working Title and iniBuilds have collaborated on a revamped Boeing 707-320C for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The aircraft model, interior, and audio were led by iniBuilds, while Working Title handled the main simulation, including systems, avionics, flight modeling, and interactions.
The team spent time simulating manual systems like pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as compass and gyro simulations. To make single-pilot operations easier, they created a custom EFB app with a virtual flight engineer (VFE) that provides 12 cockpit flows with aural callouts and localized text captions.
The Boeing 707-320C comes with three long-range navigation options: CIVA INS, Garmin GNS 530, and Universal UNS-1. These choices reflect real-world installations of these systems in the aircraft's history.
Chris Burnett, a founder of Working Title, highlighted his favorite attribute as the tactile experience of working with analog gauges and manually configuring aircraft systems. He also mentioned that replicating Tex Johnson's famous barrel roll was challenging due to limited details on how it was performed.
