Boeing 737-10 Nears Certification After Final Flight Test
The Boeing 737-10 development team has successfully completed its final certification flight test, marking a significant milestone in the aircraft's journey to certification. The team conducted a total of 976 flights, logging over 2,060 hours of flight time and more than 1,040 ground test hours.
The certification requirements were validated through a comprehensive testing program that included main landing gear, brakes on wet runways, maximum-energy stops, the 737 Engine Anti-Ice solution, and the enhanced Angle of Attack system. The final certification flight was an interiors evaluation to confirm the audibility of the lavatory smoke detector and cabin speaker system.
Chris Payne, vice president and general manager of 737 Development Programs, praised the team's commitment and dedication, saying 'Reaching this milestone is a huge testament to the commitment and dedication of the entire team.'
