Boeing 737 MAX 7 Earns FAA Certification After Lengthy Review Process
The Boeing 737 MAX 7 has finally received certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after a long and arduous process that spanned over three years.
The aircraft, which is the smallest member of the 737 MAX family, underwent extensive testing with over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing. The certification was granted on August 3, 2026, clearing it for commercial service and delivery.
Boeing's President and CEO, Stephanie Pope, stated that this certification validates the rigor of the airplane's design and recognizes the determination and resilience of the 737 MAX development team.
The 737-7 has a capacity of 135 to 160 seats in two classes and offers up to 3,800 nautical miles of range. It also burns about 20% less fuel and is half as loud as its predecessors.
