Boeing 737 MAX Arrives in Tajikistan as Somon Air Expands

Somon Air has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking the arrival of this type in Tajikistan. The airline plans to use the plane for short- and medium-haul flights across Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The new Boeing 737-8 offers improved range and operating efficiency compared with earlier models. It can carry up to 210 passengers, depending on cabin configuration, and has a range of up to 6,480 kilometres (3,500 nautical miles). According to Boeing, the aircraft will reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 20 per cent.

Somon Air plans to introduce new services to London, Beijing, and Guangzhou as part of its network expansion. The airline has committed to purchasing up to 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX aircraft as part of its long-term fleet development plans.
