Boeing 737 MAX Rebounds After Fatal Crashes
The Boeing 737 MAX has been at the center of the aviation giant's comeback efforts. With 4,363 out of 6,814 unfilled orders for all Boeing aircraft being for the MAX, it is the company's most ordered model.
Boeing presented the 737 MAX in August 2011 and received certification from US regulators with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in March 2017. The plane took its first commercial flight weeks later.
However, two crashes in 2018 and 2019 led to a global grounding of the jet. Boeing acknowledged that flaws with the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) software played a role in the crashes.
