Boeing 747-400 Freighters See Value Surge Amid Strong Demand

The value of Boeing 747-400 freighters has seen a significant increase of over 100% from the second to the third quarter of this year, according to research by aviation consultancy IBA.

This rise in value is despite the fleet's average age of over 26 years, with base values for factory-built and converted 747-400Fs increasing by an average of 114% from the second quarter of 2026 to the current quarter.

The increase in value reflects the enduring economic value of their engines and components, as well as sustained demand for these high-capacity four-engine aircraft, particularly in the Asia Pacific markets.
