Boeing 757 Engine Issue Forces Diversion to Las Vegas

United Airlines Flight 1403, a Boeing 757-200, was diverted to Las Vegas on August 27 after experiencing an engine issue while climbing through 32,000 feet. The flight, which departed Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 6:21 a.m. local time, had 176 passengers and seven crew members onboard.

The aircraft, registered N34131, was equipped with Rolls-Royce RB211 engines and was headed to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). According to aviation incident data, the engine problem occurred while the plane was climbing through FL320. The crew stopped the climb, began descending, and diverted towards Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

The Boeing 757-200 landed safely on Runway 26R at Harry Reid International Airport around 7 a.m. local time, about 25 minutes after diverting to Las Vegas. Emergency services inspected the left-hand engine and brakes after landing. All 183 people onboard were safely brought off the aircraft.
