Boeing 767-300 Freighter Overruns Runway at Miami International Airport

A Boeing 767-300 freighter operated by 21 Air on behalf of Amazon Prime overran the runway at Miami International Airport on September 6th, 2026. The aircraft was landing on runway 30 from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it went past the end of the runway and into a parking lot. It caught fire but was eventually extinguished by emergency services.

Five people were killed in the accident, with five others injured, including three with critical injuries. The aircraft itself sustained significant damage, with the right-hand wing fracturing.

A ground stop was issued at Miami International Airport following the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
