Boeing 787-10 Surpasses Rivals as Most Efficient Widebody

The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner has emerged as the most cost-effective widebody aircraft to operate, according to US airline filings. Despite its size, it outperforms other twin-engine widebodies like the 777-200 and A350-900 in terms of efficiency on domestic and transatlantic routes.

The quarterly DOT Form 41 reports reveal that the 787-10's operating cost per available seat mile is lower than its competitors. This is attributed to advanced composite materials and Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines optimized for long-haul economics.

Airlines flying the 787-10 domestically and across the Atlantic have reported improved fuel burn and maintenance metrics, contradicting assumptions based on aircraft scale alone. The data reflects actual fleet performance, not projected capabilities.
