Boeing 787 Dreamliner Day Declared in South Carolina
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has proclaimed August 7th as Boeing 787 Dreamliner Day in recognition of the company's significant contributions to the state's economy. This comes after over a decade of Boeing operating in North Charleston, where they have employed more than 9,000 people and worked with over 200 suppliers.
Boeing's presence in South Carolina has contributed approximately $1.9 billion to the state's economy since their establishment. The company also operates Fabrication South Carolina Aerostructures (FSCA) in Orangeburg, which supports manufacturing for multiple Boeing programs.
In addition to its economic impact, Boeing has invested over $135 million in nonprofit organizations across South Carolina, supporting various community programs such as conservation, education, and health services.
