Boeing Aims for 52 Monthly 737 MAX Jets by 2027
Boeing plans to increase production of its 737 MAX aircraft from 42 units per month in early 2026 to 52 by early 2027, pending FAA approval and activation of a new production line. This ramp-up follows years of regulatory scrutiny after safety incidents.
The Everett facility's North Line, which began operating in July 2026, will help handle the increased output. However, certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is required before any aircraft from this line can be delivered, introducing a new layer of complexity to Boeing's production timeline.
Boeing ultimately aims to produce 63 monthly units, with 70 under study, but is taking a phased approach to ensure quality control. The company has capped the Renton plant at 47 units per month while scaling up production in Everett.
