The two companies successfully completed the first landing gear exchange for the 737 MAX, marking an important step forward in the ongoing efforts to restore the plane's operational efficiency.
The Landing Gear Exchange Program has been extended to the MAX platform, providing airlines with a reliable and cost-effective solution for maintaining their fleets. According to Boeing, the program will help reduce aircraft on-ground time and alleviate spare-parts burdens for operators.
William Ampofo, senior vice president of Parts & Distribution and Supply Chain at Boeing Global Services, emphasized the importance of this milestone, stating that it 'reinforces what our customers have known for years: Boeing's Landing Gear Exchange capability delivers predictable, safe and cost-effective outcomes.'
