The US Army has selected Boeing and Anduril Industries to advance to the next phase of competition for the Integrated Fires Protection Capability (IFPC) Increment 2 Second Interceptor programme.

The interceptor is designed to protect fixed and forward operating bases against aerial threats, including cruise missiles and militarised drones. The Boeing-Anduril design combines a compact airframe with a solid rocket motor manufactured by Anduril, along with Boeing's seeker technology.

According to Anduril, its SRM manufacturing capability in Mississippi is intended to support production of the interceptor. The company has invested over $100 million of its own capital in the facility and received $58 million in Defense Production Act funding.
