Boeing and Anduril Win US Army Contract for Midrange Air-Defense Interceptor
The US Army has selected Boeing and Anduril to continue developing a new midrange air-defense interceptor, a critical component in defending against cruise missiles and drones. The selection moves the program into Phase 2 of the Integrated Fires Protection Capability Increment 2 Second Interceptor effort.
Boeing is responsible for the seeker technology and compact airframe, while Anduril is developing the solid rocket motor. The interceptor's modular design allows crews to replace or upgrade key components without redesigning the entire weapon.
The partnership aims to provide a reliable, affordable layer of defense against aerial threats. Boeing's manufacturing approach is designed to support scaled production as the program develops.
