Boeing and Northrop Grumman Advance Manned-Unmanned Teaming with P-8A and MQ-4C

Boeing and Northrop Grumman have made significant strides in advancing standards-based teaming between manned and unmanned aircraft. In a recent demonstration, they successfully simulated teaming between a P-8A Poseidon and an MQ-4C Triton, showcasing how these platforms can share intelligence, mission planning, and execution.

The demonstration used Open Mission Systems (OMS) and the Universal Command & Control Interface (UCI), which enable machine-to-machine tasking and coordinated maritime missions. This technology allows for seamless integration across platforms, reducing operator workload and accelerating commander decisions.

According to Jane Bishop, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's global surveillance division, 'MQ-4C Triton and P-8A are the backbone of the U.S. Navy's maritime patrol and reconnaissance force, delivering complementary capabilities unmatched by any other platforms.'
