Boeing August Deliveries Dip Amid Fewer Dreamliner Handovers

Boeing's August deliveries took a slight dip as the company handed over fewer Dreamliners to customers, but still maintains its target of delivering between 90 and 100 of these wide-body jets by year-end.

The US planemaker delivered only four 787s in August, down from nine in the same period last year. This brings the total deliveries of this popular plane type through August to 54. Boeing still expects to meet its target, citing no production or supply chain issues as a cause for the drop.

The company's August delivery numbers were also influenced by an increase in output of the highly profitable 737 Max planes. A total of 41 of these jets were handed over to customers, with nine going to Southwest Airlines and eight to United Airlines.
