Boeing Boosts Production for Missile Defense Components in DoD Framework Deal
The US Department of Defense has signed a seven-year framework agreement with Boeing to increase production rates for key parts in the RTX-built Standard Missile-3 Block IB and SM-3 Block IIA. The deal aims to boost avionics and ejector assemblies, crucial components that help intercept missile threats outside Earth's atmosphere.
The Navy utilizes these two variants of the SM-3 missile system to defend against ballistic missiles. As part of the agreement, Boeing will increase production rates for both missile variants, supporting national security efforts.
With this framework deal, the Pentagon has secured a commitment from Boeing to enhance production over the next seven years. This move is expected to bolster the country's defense capabilities in protecting against ballistic threats.
