Boeing Clears Major Hurdle with Completion of 737 MAX 10 Certification Flight Testing

Boeing has completed the final certification flight testing of its 737 MAX 10 aircraft. The test, which took off from and landed at Boeing Field in Seattle, evaluated whether crews could clearly hear the lavatory smoke detector and cabin speaker system.

The 737 MAX 10 test fleet accumulated a total of 976 flights, covering over 2,060 flight hours. Additionally, ground testing accounted for about 1,040 hours. The test program also covered the aircraft's main landing gear, braking performance on wet runways, and maximum-energy stops.

Chris Payne, Vice President and General Manager of Boeing's 737 development programs, said that reaching this milestone is a huge testament to the commitment and dedication of the entire team. He noted that this is an important step on their journey and they are focused on building on it as they move forward.
