Boeing Commercial Unit Reports Loss Amid Rising Revenue
Boeing's commercial unit continues to report losses despite an 8% rise in second-quarter revenue to $11.75 billion. The operating loss decreased to $322 million from $557 million.
The company generated $631 million in free cash flow during the quarter, compared with a $200 million outflow in the same period last year. Boeing's debt fell to $45.9 billion from $47.2 billion in March.
Over 620 orders for the 777X aircraft are pending as the company aims for a first delivery in 2027. However, a potential halt in engineering could introduce new delays due to the contract for 17,000 engineers and technical employees set to run out on October 6.
