The Boeing Company's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) segment is poised to become an increasingly important contributor to future growth. In the second quarter of 2026, BDS revenues increased 13% year over year to $7.5 billion, driven by higher volume across the portfolio.

Boeing has a significant advantage in its defense backlog, with approximately $85 billion in orders at the end of the second quarter. This includes 27% of the backlog from customers outside the United States, providing exposure to international defense demand.

The company is benefiting from demand across various areas of the defense market, including aircraft, weapons, space, and communications programs. Several major programs are moving from development to production, such as the MQ-25A Stingray and the U.S. Air Force's T-7A Red Hawk.
