Boeing Deliveries Slump as Order Backlog Remains a Challenge
Boeing's July deliveries fell short of expectations, with the company handing over 53 commercial jets to customers. The figure is down from June's total of 64 aircraft delivered, while Airbus managed to deliver 67 jets during the same period.
The drop in deliveries comes despite strong demand for Boeing's aircraft, with the company still working to turn its substantial order backlog into finished planes reaching customers.
Among the orders received by Boeing was a significant announcement from SMBC Aviation Capital, which ordered 100 737 MAX jets. The deal includes 60 737-10s and 40 737-8s, with the 737-10 now having accumulated more than 130 orders this year.
Boeing's challenge lies in converting its order backlog into a steady flow of finished aircraft, rather than simply selling more planes. The company has been working to increase production while maintaining safety and quality standards.
